Older cars vs Newer cars?
Andrew Everard:JoelSim:Saab is just about to go bustThanks to GM...
And thanks to the bankers for the lack of car loans available
And thanks to the public who don't want to buy one
And thanks to the ad agency for basing the whole proposition on a third rate aircraftÿ
ÿ
Well no, kinda thanks to GM for moving most of the production onto shared platforms in Germany, then pulling the plugs so the platform will no longer be available...

I got one, in fact I got one without any proper identification! they were falling over themselves to give it to me regardless!

I bought one, last month! D'oh!ÿ
Hughes123:daveh75:Woes? The best car in that list by far!I quote Clarkson here: "The Alfa Sud was a fanastic car, but it would never start on a tuesday; the Golf GTi was even better, but you didn't want to start it on a tuesday and the amazing Talbot Lotus was even better, but only for 5 minutes chosen by it..."ÿ
Hughesy, Hughesy, Hughesy, you shouldn't comment on something you haven't experienced, Clarkson is talking rubbish, I own a series 1 Sunbeam-Lotus (which is what that one pictured is, the series 2 had different lights and grille), and it starts every time, although you DO need to know the correct procedure, it's not just, jump in, turn the key.
Granted it didn't always carry on running for as long as you'd want (like doing 85 down a dual-carriageway when it suddenly decides it wants to rest for a few minutes before carrying on...), but it ALWAYS started first time...
Clarkson in "being outspoken to gain attention" shock horror...

Eeeep! I should have heeded your advice Laserman, I did have a look, and short of removing the headlamp I can't see how you change them. Time to hit the Ford Focus forums...laserman16:
Diamond Joe:Cheers for that, I've had a Mk2 for about 4 months, haven't had to do anything to it yet, but I suspect it'll have the same bulb access problem. Might have a look at the weekend.
laserman16:
Diamond Joe:Is that the Mk1 or Mk2 Focus?
laserman16:Headlamp bulb nearside on a Focus is a nightmare. You cannot see the blasted thing and get your hand on it at the same time.People who design these things seem to be on a different planet.
Mk1
Your welcome.
Might be a good idea not to look, you might just frighten yourself to much. LOL

AFAIK. The headlamp issue was one thing Ford did remedy with the Mk2, after lots of complaints about the procedure with the Mk1.......Apparently............
Well, anyone with a limited fund will like to make a fair deal for the used car, and it is not a bad idea if they offer you an used car warranty.

Self warranty. I have been doing this for years with no issues and I have saved a fortune and had the money for all repairs so far, including an imminent one for about £700 for one of my motorbikes.

NOTE - unlike the blatant misuse of the forum as a means to sell, this post is good advice for free to all forum members

Or like someone I know (not me, I hasten to add
) don't bother with a warranty at all. Then cross finger and toes in the hope the gearbox doesn't grow legs or explode.
This must take some kind of record for spam-related thread-resurrection!
