Pink Un now reporting QPR said to have won the race. 8-11 clubs said to be in the race (!) with 2 concrete offers. If he really is on holiday and not signing contracts for a few days, I don't think anyone will have 'won the race', this is probably Peterborough briefing the press to cause a stir and increase the bids. If we get Morrison and Vaughan as well, we shouldn't be overpaying for a League One striker....

And Peterborough's local press report Barry Fry as saying an offer has been accepted but it is not from us or Everton....

Yeah, that is what i think too, i am really pleased with the Morison one, and that looks nearly done now, 15 goals in the Championship for Millwall is really good, and he is big and strong.  The Mackail-Smith one, if we had agreed a fee with him and he went off on holiday, personally i would have not been to impressed, but it does look like it is QPR, whether we do go in for him we will have to see.  Yeah, i am not too sure he is worth £4million, it is one thing scoring goals for Peterborough and another for scoring in the Premier League.

I think you are right, and we should probably use that money on someone more proven.

Cheers mate.  Thumbs up.

I did not think this thread will get that far A.  Smile.  I keep getting tempted with the Muzza one, but i think you could be right, don't want to be tempting fate. Wink.

You do realise i was talking about tennis?, just seen we have someone called Muzza on here.  Big Smile

Cheers.

I think you may be talking to yourself again, gel. And since office speculation suggests this is now me answering myself and suggesting to myself that I may be talking to myself, this has all now got far too strange.

Anyway, back to Alan Bennett...

Leeds have just rejected a £3.5m bid from us, for Snodgrass.  Blimey we are certainly splashing the cash at the moment, i have never seen us spend money like this before - it does feel really good.  Smile.  Hopefully he will hand in a transfer request and we can get him too, reports are saying we will go back with another bid.  Thumbs up.

Very good player, tho much more than £3.5m would seem a bit much. He fits the Lambert mold of skilful and hungry. You're right, it is exciting us making all these bids - I just hope we can afford it!

Seeing as Norwich are splashing the cash, can I suggest Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen and David Ngog.

You can have all 3 for £10 million.

Anyone? Anyone? Smile

Laughing, no thanks mate, i think you would be lucky to get a million for that lot.  Big Smile.  I'm hearing that we would like Dani back - if the rumours are to be believed.  You guys are being linked with quite a few at the moment:

1.  Connor Wickman - £10m, to be honest i would prefer you not sign him, don't really want Ipswich to have that sort of money to spend,  although sooner or later someone will sign him - just hope he is a one season wonder.

2.  N'Zogbia - £10m plus -  personally i think he is well overrated.

3.  A Sunderland player for about £15m - again a bit surprised by that.

Reports are saying Leeds want £5m so i think he is no longer an option, a guy called Bennet from Brighton being heavily linked again, we had a bid for him rejected in January from memory.  I hope we can afford this too, should be alright, at least we are not signing past it players on huge wages - a good sign.  Thumbs up.

Can't seem to get Gunn out of the press at the moment, now in the paper yesterday with the Britain's Got Talent scandal.  Smile.

No Mattias Jonsson this time round Wink Definitely rather have under 25 Brit from lower leagues than an older international with no desire.

Not heard the Gunn story, will have to check that out.

OK gel

How about Joe Cole and Milan Jovanavich for £10 million, and we'll throw Poulsen in for free?

C'mon! Thats a bargain!

Think about it, Poulsen for free!

OK OK, we'll give you £1 million to take him, how's that?

Anyone!!!!
