RE: Off-topic and miscellaneous

Just been looking at some more info and stats on Vaughan:

Height: 5ft 9in,  Weight: 12st 9lb - So he is quite small but really well built and looking at one of his goals against QPR he is fast and likes to play on the defenders shoulders.

Everton:  11 starts (plus 49 as sub) 9 goals,  Crystal Palace:  28 starts 9 goals,  in total: 43 (57 sub) 19 goals - quite a few injuries.

So he has yet to reach potential, and clearly Lambert thinks he can, i remember not being to optimistic about Jackson, but that came good - in the end.  Smile, fingers crossed then.

The Morison one looks like it could be coming to a conclusion - hope we get him.  BenLaw - i think you could be right about Martin - Forest and Cardiff are suppose to be quite interested.  So it could be we end up with a strike force with something like this:  Holt, Vaughan, Morison, Jackson and i could see us still going back for Mackail-Smith.

Jimmy Bullard talking on Soccer AM, saying he would quite like a move to Norwich - i tell you what, it would be worth us signing him just to be able to see the look on Ipswich fans faces.  Big Smile.

Delighted for Paul Lambert, speaking as a Celtic fan; he was a great servant to our club and equally pleased to see there's another Scot at the helm of yet another Premiership club...!  Wink

Best of luck this time round Norwich, well deserved but don't blow it with the money!

You have a great manager in waiting in Lambert.  Wink.  He is really good.  Thumbs up.  Yeah i am scared we will blow most of our money on "donkeys" like last time, hopefully this time round we will be okay.

Congrats.  Smile.  Yeah, i could only see one winner last night - definitely the best team i've seen play.  I did think Fergie was slow to make some changes though - the match was clearly going one way.

Thanks as ever for the info gel Smile Martin really struggled in the championship for us so that doesn't surprise me. I can see him doing well in his second season tho so I wish him the best of luck, especially as a local lad and generally nice guy. And if he goes to forest or Cardiff he might go up next year anyway.

Vaughan certainly is athletic, if he can stay fit i really fancy lambert to get the best out of him. He could make an excellent foil for holt, who's surprisingly mobile and skilful for a big striker anyway. I'm not sure Jackson's good enough for the premier league - he went on a great run at the end but I don't think he has the composure to take the very few chances that might come your way against the best defences. But the other 4 you mention would make a good strike force, possibly with another 4-5mil signing with some premier league experience Smile

Agree with that. There needed to be a change at half time as they were very lucky to be level at the break. I also thought they tried too much to match Barcelona's style of play, but didn't have the movement or passing ability when in possession or the fitness to press high for 90mins when not. Ironically, the only way to beat barca is the way Utd normally play, very high tempo and direct, putting the back line under pressure, especially with mascherano back there: see utd's goal yesterday, the last 20mins of the arsenal first leg, and the inter first leg last year.

Norwich have had 'a couple' of transfer bids for Morrison rejected and he's now handed in a transfer request. Sounds like only a matter of time to me.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13584227.stm

I hope so - i quite like the look of him, although Millwall seem very reluctant.  Yeah, i agree with you on the Martin thing, i think it is always nice to keep one of your own - when you can.  I heard a newspaper is linking us with Whittingham of Cardiff, so perhaps some sort of swap involving money as well, is on the cards.

Looks like we might have nearly got Mackail-Smith for £4million (i think) according to some people, Peterborough have accepted a bid now - from a Premier League team.  Morison - looks like we had another bid rejected, hopefully we will get there in the end.  Smile.

Hmm, no citation for that on wiki, clearly someone's confident! Independent reports he's going to Everton, ironically. EDP says Wigan and QPR also in for him. Hard to see we couldn't match a bid from any of them, so I guess we'll find out today.... Cheers Gel.

No probs, in the Daily Mail today they are saying, we have bid £2.6million for Morison but they want £3million, so hopefully we will get that one done soon.  Yeah i am not to confident on the Mackail-Smith one at the moment, the last i heard he was of on holiday.  If we do get these two done, that would be what around £9.5million on 3 strikers - i am already enjoying this summer a lot more than last time we got promoted to the Premier League.  Thumbs up.
