Well done, but it lost me money on an accumulator. <img src=" />

Cheers BBB.  Smile

OMG  Smile I've been out since about 5.30 so just saw this thread had reappeared and checked out the BBC sport website. Can't believe this. With cazorla and podolski I thought arsenal had way too much for us, but looking at the report it sounds like we got our defensive tactics right and the personnel was finally about right (don't know much about Tettey but he has made significant contributions in the games he's played). Maybe Hughton has finally cracked it, and if Holt has got his hunger and form back then we have a chance, even if it's a slim one  Smile

It upsets me that there's no green bouncing emoticon and we're stuck with red or (worst of all!) blue  Angry

I watched this and Norwich did brilliantly. Just goes to show what a great determination and good teamwork can get you in today's mega bucks take on the simple game of football.

Well done Norwich City.    woohoo!  (kid-on it's a green and yellow bouncer)

Hi Ben

Think I am right in saying this is the first time we have beat a top team since about 8 years ago against Man U. I can't believe we are out of the bottom three!  Great stuff.   cheer

Well, well, what a little run we've been on  Smile Unlucky not to get the better of Lambert, lucky to get the better of Tottenham (but I remember the days when we lost every game to Spurs and definitely do not remember the days when we made Cup quarter finals  Wink ) and looked like a solid win in an uninspiring game today. Seems to be based on two main things, tightening up the defence by playing our two new but most experienced centre backs consistently, and consistently playing Holt and Hoolahan up front. Tettey also looks like a very good player, it's been a long time since we've had a player who can break up play but also pull some strings from deep midfield  Smile

Brilliant stuff, Hughton has finally worked out Hoolahan is one if not the best player we have.  Yep, Tettey looks like a great signing, I quite like Snodgrass too.  We now look like quite a decent team again, which is great news.  One more good win in our next couple of games and we would be looking seriously good.  Smile

RE: Norwich City

Agreed. Unusually we seem to have had a bit of the rub of the green lately and I think we need to pick up as many points as we can on this run. I can see us going through bad runs in future parts of the season, as there's not really anyone else to score goals than Holt or pull the strings other than Hoolahan. Still, those bottom three look poor, so our chances of staying up are looking much better.

I agree in part Ben, but QPR have some quality players, as do Southampton, and they can only improve. I fear for Reading, almost certain to go down, and I think Stoke could be in trouble this year, I hope so anyway. ;)

But IMO, you'll need to keep picking up points against those sides around you, otherwise it's going to be a fight til the end of the season.

Hi BBB, I think it's going to be a fight to the end of the season anyway! I'm certainly less confident this season than last. You're right about QPR, which is why it is nice to see them doing so badly at this early stage. They're the sort of club now who could have terrible internal problems and a really bad season, from our POV I hope so  Wink Southampton have some decent players for sure but I think they needed a good start to stay up. They're similar to Blackpool IMO, who had a great start and still couldn't do it. I think they may get demoralised and have a poor season, especially if they have a poor transfer window. I can also see Aston villa being in the mix at the end.

Well, well  beauty, eh   Smile

Despite Sunderland's poor form, pitted against Martin O'Neill and needing to win this sort of game I was worried... Now, we're 8 games unbeaten, 4 straight wins at home and we're half way to safety after 15 games  Smile Another 19-20 points from 23 games seems like a plausible equation. We're closer to European qualification than we are to relegation  Smile

RE: Norwich City

And after all that negativity earlier in the season too. ;)

Leave the negativity to the "supporters" of poor lowly Chelsea, owned by a multi-billionaire, over a billion spent on players, near the top of the league, current European champions, and about to fly to Japan for the world club final.

How they must be suffering.
