Snodgrass in talks - yippee!

Incoming also Michael Turner from Sunderland - fantastic stuff.   Oh and great win last night - feed the horse and he will score!  Smile

Great news x 2, thanks gel  Smile Considering I thought we were just a defender short, this may complete our summer signings? A new striker would be nice but not a necessity.

Hi mate

Certainly is great my friend and yeah this might well complete our signings, and if it does I have to say I am really pleased, how about you?  Just got my tickets for the MK Dons match.  Yeah our squad is pretty big now, I am not sure if we will go for another striker, and considering Snodgrass can play striker too.

I have just been watching clips of Turner on the Pinkun and I have to say he looks quality, I can remember him too and he is really good.

Good to hear you've got some tickets  Smile I've got all the NW away matches in my calendar, can't do the Everton day so I won't see any games til the new year at the earliest. I'd like to make it to anfield and old Trafford this year as I've never been, but will have to see how it goes.

Looks like Vaughan may be off to Huddersfield and I think we still have Chris Martin on the books, so there's room for another striker. I don't think I've seen much of Snodgrass but know his reputation. It feels strange poaching the best players from Leeds! Don't know what's happened with Turner but he certainly used to be excellent. Any idea of the fee?

Cheers,

Ben

Hadn't heard about Vaughan, perhaps a swap deal with Rhodes - that would certainly be nice!  No I haven't heard about a fee for Turner - I would imagine it is a million plus though.  Just heard on Skysports news both still doing medicals - hopefully quick ones.  Smile

Well most of the players we sign are still injured so medicals shouldn't be a problem  Wink At least a million I would have thought, tho I guess it can only be a fraction of what they signed him for. Just saw the Vaughan story on the mirror website, season loan followed by a £1m transfer I think it was, sounds fair enough.

Oh yeah just checked out the Vaughan news - cheers for that!  Perhaps a striker is on the cards then, I will keep a look out for links.

Just read Turner was £1.5m - not bad going!

Snodgrass deal completed - fantastic stuff.  Three year deal too.

Just bought the new away kit - thought I would celebrate our new signings.  Still have the black one from last time, so especially looking forward to receiving it.

And we draw our second blank in a row, against Hull! Are we worried? I'd say not overly for now, we're traditionally poor in pre season but goalscoring is never easy and we'll need to get off to a good start to keep the confidence up.

I was more surprised to hear Crofts and Ayala have gone. I guess Crofts is understandable as we maybe had too many in central midfield, but I thought he was a good player and up to PL standard. Ayala, when fit, looked to me like maybe our best central defender so I'm def surprised by that. Hughton apparently still looking to strengthen but not up front - so maybe some more width in defence and midfield?

Hi Ben

I am a little worried too - Ward was being linked with Forest also today.  I keep hearing Curtis Davies of Birmingham is still a defensive target for us, that I would quite like to see.  Rhodes of Huddersfield I hear is out of our transfer range.  Left back need cover I would say - Lappin not good enough for me.  Haven't heard many names other than that, how about you?

Cheers

I wouldn't be too bothered at Ward going, as I'd rank him alongside Whitbread, good Championship but not quite good enough for PL. We would need some cover tho. Davies is a good player, tho expensive (for us) I would have thought. Agree LB is needed.

Not heard of Rhodes, what do you know about him?

Not heard any other rumours myself!  silenced

Me either with Ward although I do prefer him to Whitbread.  Rhodes I watched in the playoffs against MK Dons, scores lots of goals with head, or left or right foot.  Another player I have seen us linked with is Gary Hooper of Celtic for a lot of money - just spec though.  I would quite like us to sign him.

RE: Norwich City

BBB, your post re Agger seems to have been deleted along with the spam post, but I'd be a bit worried if I were you. As you say, there's no obvious reason why they should want to sell one of their best players. Rogers has wanted to get rid of some players who won't fit into his system, but I don't see that applies to a CB. I've read the BBC news story, and it sounds to me like they have financial concerns. They certainly overspent on a number of players last year and are set to make a big loss one way or the other with Carroll. Seems worrying to me.
