BTW we went to see a wonderful play on Saturday night. Sigorney (sp) Weaver and David Hyde Pierce (aka Niles in "Frasier") in a little theatre off Broadway. It's called "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike". It's all about a borther and sister who stayed home looking after their parents with altzheimers and whose sister (Sigorney) went off to be a Hollywood starlet (think Kenny Everett's Cupid Stunt), and shows up with her boy toy to sell the house from under her siblings. David Hyde Pierce steals the show with his second half rant about licking postage stamps. 180 degrees from Niles. Absolutely brilliant, and in a tiny theatre, perfect.
When buying the tickets (150 bucks each - yikes) SWMBO was fishing for compliments and told the ticket sales guy she used to be told she looked like Sigorney Weaver. I muttered something like "more like the Alien". Doctor says the black eye should be gone in about two weeks.
Well things didn't work out as well as we'd hoped.
The airline basically aditted liability but offered us just $20K. We had offered to settle pre-trial for $375K, half of the claim at trial of $750K.
So, we're going to trial. Given this is Texas, and wearing a white bedsheet and pointed hat are almost compulsory, and given who the perpetrator was, we won't have any trouble getting our $750K, maybe a lot lot more. And that's from the airline. Wait until you see what the perpatrator gets hit for.
If this works out we'll be buying Cyrus. Not some Cyrus kit, Cyrus itself.
What happened on the plane?
HiFi / A/V / Bedroom
Not saying, but you wouldn't want it happening to your wife.
I'm tempted to say that for $750k I wouldn't mind it happening to me, but I'm guessing that might be inappropriate.
I'm tempted to buy her another plane ticket mysel. However, living with a woman with PTSD verging on bi-polar fnearly or two and a half years now since the incident is not recommended.
BTW we went to see a wonderful play ... called "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" ...
Written by an admirer of Chekhov and Whedon?
Nominated for six Tony Awards.
Written by Christopher Durang:
It kind of did have that Chekhov feel about it (never read much Chekhov I must admit), combined with some fantastic humour. If it comes to London it's a must-see.
Sorry double post.
WHF website people - guys you really need to get some baited gremlin traps around here
Sheesh, not wishing to pry in anyway whatsoever but that must have been one heck of a plane trip! - my sympathies
