Oh yes, complete agreement from me on this one! I respect Ronaldo as he is one of the best footballers in the world at the moment, but I do just inexplicably hate him. Pure and simple!

Agreed. I was very pleased to see the Germans win - I'm not a fan of all that "play acting" that the Latin teams are so fond of, I just don't see the point!

Frog, great post. I've never despised a footballer before. Step forward the Winker. I loved the close up of him trudging off last night - pity there were no tears (he is still being talked about because of his imminent transfer so he will still be happy). I cheered the Germans on with vigour.

Hard to feel sorry for Ronaldo but the Germans are just as bad with the "simulation".  Did anyone see Ballack amongst others rolling around as though he had been physically assaulted when merely brushed a Portguguese player.  Hard to imagine how he could have been strutting around like a peacock merely seconds later the way he was rolling around as though he'd require an operation to get up again....


But, yes, I'm glad the overrrated winking one is out of the competititon too...
