Well chuffed and with loads of fruit and nut left over for picking at over the coming days though i've polished off the figs already, forgot how good they taste.
Looks fine. I'm not familiar with Jamie's recipe but I don't usually use any raising agent if it's self-raising flour. Also, I separate the egg whites from the yolk. If you whisk the white to a fine peak and add it to the beaten yolk you'll have a lighter sponge.
