Hope you don't think I'm mad? but I was speaking to someone over the weekend and he asked me whether a hi-fi or audio museum exists(as you do, of course). I said i'd never heard of one but maybe someone could enlighten me. If not perhaps someone could enquire into the possibility. Cheers PP

There is a radio/TV museum at the old Washford transmitting station in Somerset, and it has a lot of old radio sets etc, but I'm not sure if it comes under the catagory of HiFi in general (mainly radio's/TV etc, but with a few curios like moving-iron speakers and BTH horns etc)...

Alternatively, make some arrangement with JohnD to view the contents of his now infamous "hifi drawer"... Wink

The Science Museum in London's got a fair amount of kit - and it's got a corking exhibition on at the moment - Dan Dare and the Birth of Hi-Tech Britain

Very kind of you to offer my drawers out to others, FB, but I fear that the HFD© may not be long for this world. Just looking into doing some building work upstairs, and have been warned that there needs to be 'a clear out'. Which may involve getting rid of a few guitars as well as AV amplifiers..........

A single packet will repay any debt.

This shows how wrong we have the economy. Why trade coinage and various denominations of it when we ccould just swap packets of biscuits for goods and services!

Actually, thats a stupid idea isn't it?

I have always admired his philosophy, especially his thoughts on fuzz therapy.

Sound & Vision Bolton have got it for four Hob nobs, two custard creams and a quarter jammy dodger - so I managed to get John Lewis Cardiff to price-match it after a bit of negotiation and I got a bourbon thrown in too.

In Bradford (West Yorskshire) there used to be the National Film, Photography and Television museum. This has since been rebranded to the National Media Museum, there might be some hi-fi related stuff there....just a thought.
