Kudos gel you did indeed predict this but I'm still stunned the club would reward a player who acted in this way. So the moral of this story is that if you stamp your feet like a pathetic child you will get either a bumper new contract or a move to the club of your choice...simply ludicrous! In what other business would this be deemed acceptable behaviour other than banking where greed is good it seems?
Yes Liverpool are building a team around him and he remains a great player but it's sending the wrong message that this sort of thing will be tolerated and even rewarded!
It's simply not the Liverpool way...although there seems to be no such thing anymore and that saddens me.
Grant Holt did sort of the same thing last year at Norwich and indeed got a pay rise too! I wish I could do something like that.
Well Norwich must have realised they'd made a big mistake (I could have told them that at the time ) and he's in the Championship now with Wigan.
Who remembers "Holt for England"? hahahahahahahhahaha

I don't quite know what went wrong with Holt and Norwich. He said he wanted a transfer because he wasn't getting the contract he deserved then we give it to him and he moves his family up north. He then doesn't have a great season and doesn't like the new managers tactics. Ends up on the bench quite a bit. I thought he would had been at Norwich for the rest of his career though but not to be.

Mr Holt, your burger is ready.
The article means nothing oldboy, just gossip.
Indeed. It was all over the sports pages of even established and usually trustworthy papers and sites yesterday all reporting the same thing which is why I (mistakenly) actually paid attention to it. Now the claims and counter claims have begun...so he says he didn't say it but the jounalist concerned is adamant he did...blah blah blah blah, not listening anymore as thought this had some substance
That will teach me to listen to newspaper gossip, I normally take it all with a pinch of salt but I was outraged at the notion that he would be rewarded for his behaviour which got the better of me. I just want him gone but with the club digging it's heels in and no replacement in sight only time will tell where this all ends up.

What on earth happened to Holt anyway? He seemed to disappear off the radar last season and seemed to barely get a game after signing an extension then all of a sudden he was a Wigan player...seemed very strange to me but in all honesty Norwich will be a better team without him this year as they have Ricky Van Wolfswinkel which could just turn out to be the best bit of business done over the transfer window. I was hoping Liverpool would sign him to add much needed firepower up front so kudos to Norwich for getting him, he could have a big impact over the next few seasons.
Ricky Van Wolfswinkel
What a great name!
Feed the wolf and he will score!

He's not a wolf, he's a wolf's winkel.
Well the Winkel did score!
Nice start for my team at Swansea today, though I don't think it was a 4-1 game. Just goes to show though, it's alright having lots of possession and lovely passing, but if you don't have a cutting edge it's all a bit of a waste of time.
My word, didn't Rooney look happy today
Yep, great header from the Wolf! Watched it on the link. Yep, Man U did well, and Rooney did not look happy.
