I have it on very good authority (Arsenal side) that they have no idea whether it will happen or not. As a lifelong Red, Ive backed him until last night. Im confident that we will refuse to sell to a PL side. Either £50m from abroad ir he is benched until he grovels forgiveness. Henry is by no means going to be pushed around by Suarez.

I'm extremely disappointed by what has happened, but sadly, I'm not at all surprised. Torres did the same, Rooney's trying it on with Man U, Bale with Spurs, and Terry did it to Chelsea a few years ago just to get a pay rise, there is very little loyalty to the clubs anymore, and it's sad.
Liverpool are playing hardball to push the fee up, they know that his is the end for him as a LFC, but I really don't think he'll be going to Arsenal. If he does, then it'll just be a stop gap move, to get himself in the shop window for Europe's elite teams.
There's a rumour this evening that Real Madrid will come in for him, and I also think either Chelsea or Man City might come in for him too, which will push the price up hopefully. There's absolutely no chance Arsenal will get him for £40,000,000 + £1, will have to be £50,000,000 plus.
Liverpool played better without him towards the end of the season, so I've no worries about losing him, but we do need another top quality striker in as soon as possible.
EDITED him and forget him.

Indeed, and the irony is that all these players don't put in official transfer requests because they wont get their loyalty bonus!
As a Man U fan I would love to know the actual reason why Rooney wants to move. He's on £250,000 a week and playing for the champions, so whats his problem?
All these Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal supporters who ring up TalkEDITED moaning and crying about this and that make me weep they really do. They should try being a Coventry City fan for example.

It's because he and Moyes don't see eye to eye, and he probably won't be in the first eleven most weeks.
Or to put it another way, he's a spolit EDITED.
If I was Moyes, I'd have snatched Chelsea's hand off when they offered £40,000,000 for him, he's on the downward spiral.
Sell him, get his wages off the bill, and buy someone younger with a bit of hunger.
He's poison, just like Suarez.
Possibly regards Moyes, but the "problems" started before he was appointed. Fergie left Moyes with a real problem to sort out which was nice of him.
To be honest I tend to agree that we've seen the best of Rooney, and if he's adament that he wants to go, then let him go provided we get the maximum dosh for him. I couldn't care less if he goes to Chelsea, Arsenal or whoever. With him out of the way it would allow Kagawa to show what he's capable of with an extended run in the team.

I couldn't think any less of Suarez.
But I don't think much of the Liverpool fans who proudly stood by him while he was getting up to various misdemeanours, and only now seem to realise he's a toe-rag because he wants to leave.
And, on the subject of toe-rags, I give you... Diouf!
I didn't stand up for him when he bit Ivanovic, and I don't know of any that did.
I've said my piece on the Evra case, so I don't need to return to that subject.
Can I ask who you support?
I'm Scottish, used to be a fan of Rangers but got fed up of the bigotry that surrounds them, then there was the disgrace in Manchester and it's been all downhill since there. The only team I've followed since I was a nipper is Barca. I've just remembered I had a brief flirtation with Arsenal, but my heart wasn't in it! Why?
I wasn't aiming that comment at anyone in particular other than the fans who did support him. I know it wasn't all of them. But even the staff at Liverpool have made a big deal about how much support they've given Suarez. He didn't deserve any, IMO.
Suarez is a wretched human being. I work with a Liverpool supporter who dint even question him after the bitegate incident.
Surely Liverpool should of seen it coming though. He did cause all this fuss before he arrived. http://www.benefoot.net/suarez-eredivisie/

OK. Fair enough. But you would expect a club and fans to support it's players, until they prove unworthy of that support.
I'm not willing to discuss the Evra case, though I still feel it's not as clear cut as the papers and FA would have us believe. Saying that, with all that has happened since, I'm beginning to doubt Suarez's version of events now.
The biting thing was unforgiveable, and that was it for some Liverpool supporters, though the club and most of the supporters backed him still.
So I think it's fair that he should show some loyalty to the club, they've bent over backwards to support him, they've damaged their worldwide reputation by doing this, and then he EDITED on us all.
I no longer want him at the club, but I understand what the owners are saying, but I still feel if a foreign club comes in with a decent offer, we should get rid.
He's poisonous, and I don't think his continued presence at the club will be beneficial for what is an important season.
Liverpool would sell in an instant to a foreign team, probably for a fair bit less than £40m. Given he's considering arsenal, Suarez would go to almost any team in CL which doesn't involve a pay cut. Real are unlikely to bid so much for a liability who may be difficult to offload. So assuming arsenal make it through to the group stages he'll go there shortly before the window closes for about £45m, probably agreeing to forego a proportion of his loyalty bonus.

Well the owner John Henry was most adament and categorical that he was not for sale, so to sell him now would make JH look a bit ridiculous.
However I still believe that any player has his price, but is anyone prepared to stump up the amount of cash for JH not to look silly?
Having read Neil Ashtons piece in the Daily Mail this morning, it really does look like Rooney has played his last game for Man U. Putting his sudden ill-feeling towards the club aside for one moment, it was a poor show by Rooney to not want to support his "mate" Rio Ferdinands testimonial game. Bad decision there Wayne. Just shows, a multi millionaire on £250k a week, but still can't buy a small bit of class. Jose, you're welcome to him.
Fair points made by all so far
I don't beleive many LFC fans thought that the bite incident was one they could support but loyalty to the club was the over riding factor in the support and not condoning the incident, for me it was bizarre that he would do it AGAIN...he obviously learnt nothing form the ban last time when playing for Ajax and the controversy it caused.
John Henry did also state that if Liverpool sold Suarez then they didn't have time to get in a suitable replacement which to me hints that they have thought about letting him go which is interesting but the time scale is such that they wouldn't be able to scout for replacements and avoid the horrendous mistake made when Torres left in signing Andy Carrol, such a knee jerk reaction can't happen again. I'm not so sure Liverpool will even sell to a foreign team now after those comments by Mr Henry as it would seem Liverpool simply don't have a plan b in place should Suarez leave.
Personally I don't want him at the club any longer and everyone I know is of the same opinion, he doesn't want to be at LFC this season and won't give 100% should he be forced to stay despite what Brendan Rodgers says and he will be a disruptive and poisonous influence within the team. The big problem is that the team has been built around Suarez and even the new signings have been brought in to support that system so you would need to find a very particular kind of striker to replace him and that would mean a big name marquee signing which would be very expensive.
Could Liverpool bring in such a player to replace Suarez in the current window? Can they even afford it? I'm not so sure, time is against them and any team they approach should they identify a suitable replacement would have Liverpool over a barrel just like Newcastle did with Carrol meaning they would pay well over the true value of the player. Who is out there suitable to replace him anyway?? Any ideas??
Liverpool need a striker of Suarez's calibre to compete this season and without the goals and creativity he brings to the team Liverpool will struggle yet again which is why the club have dug it's heels in...they know that without him or a player of equal quality up front the team falls apart and the system falls to peices. Pre season was full of hope though until the Celtic game where it just didn't quite click but I really think LFC will struggle if Suarez leaves and isn't replaced...we can't afford another average season like last year and must be fighting for the CL spots this year and that's why he will never be sold to Arsenal.
I just hope it's sorted out sooner rather than later as it's far to distracting to the team, manager and fans.
It's a long journey back for Suarez if he stays as support for him will be non existent among supporters simply because of his attempts to engineer a move through any media outlet that will listen to his childish rants, the guy lacks any class what so ever and doesn't seem to appreciate how the club stood by him.

That was my point I can't understand how anyone, fan or staff, could continue to support him after he'd taken a chomp at another player.
