4 bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms (in US speak a half bathroom means a downstairs loo), large study / home office, large open plan kitchen / living / dining room, big (about 20 ft x 30 ft) rumpus room upstairs.

4 car garage (well two linked two-car garages).

4500 square feet or thereabouts.

Back garden only has a couple of worthless pine trees in it and has plenty of room for a decent sized swimming pool.

Should get it for US$550,000, which is what about GBP350,000?

Best bit of the lot though, it has an unfinished room (built, insulated, mains electricty and air con all in place, but no plasterboard on the walls or celing) measuring about 15 feet x 12 woohoo!

Just perfect for wiring up a 9.1 surround sound system, with all the cables run, in wall / in ceiling speakers, big projector and screen, etc. etc.

AND I can put a pukka hifi in there as well without the two interfering with each other party time!

Pics later...

Should be a great project for you.

Hopefully progress will be blogged with picture storyboard to accompany??

Wish I had the means to afford a $550, 000 mortgage!!

Very nice indeed.......I'm envious, as ATM my house is being eaten by Dry Rot, and is being torn apart as we speak.  Sad

Jeez just how bad is it and how long before it is all sorted out?   My thoughts are with you as every builder etc. I have come across can easily cause coronary failure without any effort on their part.  Good luck with it all.

Thank you Sir, I very much appreciate the sentiment.

There are 4 rooms involved and the roof will have to be replaced.

One of the rooms is where I listen to music, and I have had to dismantle my hifi system, which will be out of action for a couple of months.  Sad

There's 2 bedrooms involved, so we are a bit like a youth hostel building site atm

I expect work to be on going for a couple of months, maybe more....builders are great, but we are living, eating and breathing dust.

Apologies to OP for diversion.

I've no wish to teach grandad to suck eggs, but having been a victim of said fungus. just make sure you've got  a certificate on the whole house and not just the rooms they're repairing. It really is a nasty thing to have( which you already know.)

WOW! that's a lot of house for £350k - I know it's all relative but I'm tempted to move to Texas!

Just like Tom though - I think I'd miss the green green grass of home.

Wow!!

And that front door looks like Hagrid could get through without ducking.

Or built so you don't need to take off the ten-gallon hat? Smile
