To balance things out a bit I am actively involved in arranging a traditional afternoon village fete, followed by a 'party in the park', and next day a children's toy raft race, an afternoon of bell ringing at the local church, followed by an evening picnic at our church, followed by a choral concert interspersed with readings on the theme of 'Majesty'.
Well we've officially got three local street parties on the same day, and apparently I'm in charge of bunting At least it means I won't have to bake a cake...
