What a race! Congrats Jenson, but you didn't make it easy as a spectator...![]()
lewis hamilton only lent it to him till next year ...
Is it me, or is Lewis's accent becoming more bizarre every time he's interviewed?
Damn and blast, I thought I was safe posting drivel and wittering on the forum till I watched the highlights later. Ah, well brilliant news and well done to Jensen for never giving up hope. When he was on Top Gear and did the F1 driver in a reasonably priced car Jeremy Clarkson asked if he would trade all for just one GP win. At that point I think that he had the record for the most races/podiums or something without a win. The look on his face when he said yes was painful. I thought he was going to cry. Now he must be happier than a happy person has ever been, nice one.

It's the McLaren...
Steve McLaren
HI everyone
Jenson has had some stick about not going all out in the latter part of the season, just trying to protect his lead rather than extend it.
I would just like to say he's won it and that's all that matters he's got the job done -lets not knock him for flying the flag for Britain. (I know no one has knocked him on this forum)
In those first few laps today "he drove it like he stole it" and from then on it was a mature but competative drive just slowly increasing the pressure.
Ruben's always had a lot to do to win the title, though he had the momentum, the season was 1 or 2 races too short for him.
Lewis will be back given a decent car next season but well done Jenson

Who?
Actually, he's sounding more Malcolm McLaren...
I hope team Brawn have done enough this year to get some decent long-term funding on board.
I mean.. what more can they do?
(Apart from P1 and P2 in Abu-Dhabi so that Barricello can steal second place back from Vettel and team Brawn prove decisively to any potential sponsor that the team has not 'faded' in the last few races.)
Oh yeah and it bugs me that Red Bull - a British team depending on British expertise for their success - are registered in Austria! I get fed up with hearing the Austrian anthem when Austria has nothing to do with a Red Bull win. Must be a real slap in the face for all their hard-working staff,
Grrr
Damn those Austrians. And Australians, indeed... ![]()

Grrr
I know what you mean in terms of engineering expertise/factory location, but commercially, it has everything to do with the Austrians - Red Bull being an Austrian company, and having the finance to afford Adrian Newey et al to make more effective design changes to the car than almost any team this season....

And to think that (and this is serious) we were approached re sponsorship of Brawn pre-season. (Mind you, even their 'modest' packages would have blown our marketing spend for, say, most of the 21st century
)

And yet in retrospect, we'd probably have all chucked in a tenner...
