jan 19th mobile upgrade(t mob)
as above my contract is due for upgrade any recomendations on phones i may not no about
i dont like htc(work phone)
and i dont want to lose minutes for an i phone(i have a touch that covers that)
my last phones were n95[Y] and curuntly an e71
i was kind of thinking the new nokia touch screen thing but i havent seen one yet.
any sugestions would help as i have no idea what else is out.
thanx bretty that exactly the kind of thing.i will put it on my list.
im really not up on phones these days and to be honist im not that worried.
i just want to get a list of 3 or 4 good phones so when i call t mobile up it will give me somthing to go on.
must say it looks very cool![]()
Why don't you tell them you don't want an upgrade, and you are going to leave them. You will be amazed at what they will offer!
My contract is now only £6.00per month!
Speak to T mobile and not to one of the retailers who phone you up pretending to be T mobile.
im on the flex 35 contract and to be fair it suites me.it is a little expencive i guess.but i never go over my minutes so i have peace of mind when the bill comes in snd i dont have to limit my calls in the last 3 years ive never gone over
and the house phone dosent get used really so i save money there.
also the last couple of upgrades ive had have been free and the phones have been ok.
Regarding the Sony Xperia Mini Pro, you really should see the phone first. My friend has the Xperia Mini (without the keyboard), and it's really really small, almost like a toy! Looks like it's meant for girls...
Also remember that a smaller phone means a smaller battery. My friend keeps moaning about the battery life of her phone.
What about Google Nexus 2? It's a brilliant phone in all respects. I've had a play with it (my sister-in-law got it as a Christmas gift from her employer, Google). It's very light & super responsive.
cheers bb,i will have a look at the dumie phones down at car phone or best buy i think have working models.but as i order of tmobile over the phone, i will feel bad geting a store demo.
i think t mobile give you 2 weeks to return the handset if you dont get on with it.
i will add the nexus to my list
nokia n9
sony xperia
samsung nexus 2
one more should do it![]()
Hmmm, if you're happy to go with other Android phones I really don't understand why you're rejecting HTC models, from what I've used they're the best Android phones out there, the HTC Sense additions really make the OS more usable, imo.
I addressed all of your points in my post. And as for it being for girls? Come on, you're an intelligent bloke aren't you? Didn't expect 'Me man. Man need big phone, big car or me girl' mentality from you.bigboss:Regarding the Sony Xperia Mini Pro, you really should see the phone first. The biggest issue I can see with a small smartphone is the screen real estate. For me, in order for these phones to work they need a reasonable size screen otherwise they're unreadable and in the case of touchscreen phones, unusable (I have got fat fingers to be fair). That's the reason I gave on Nokias as the N-series phones I'd used (N95 and 82) just didn't have big enough screens for any "smart" features (and if you're not going to use a Smartphone as a smartphone, ie, internet, email, etc etc, why bother getting one?), moving to the HTC Desire, with it's 3.7 inch screen is perfect for me. It is a trade off though, granted, I had a look at the DesireHD over Christmas and whilst the additional screenspace looks great it did feel rather large in the hand, especially with a flip cover on it.

Android is Google's phone operating system most of the other phones being recommended are running Android. What HTC have you got, you may have a different OS on your phone?

Ah yes, that's running Windows Mobile 6.5, which, by all accounts, is an absolute pig but that's the fault of the OS, not the phone manufacturer, Android is a totally different experience.
Also Windows 7 mobile is supposed to be completely different from the previous versions, from the brief play I've had with it it looks pretty good, so that may be worth exploring.
Either way don't rule out other HTC phones on the basis of being stuck with Windows Mobile 6.5, you're not getting the full story and I think you'd be very surprised, there's a number of very happy HTC Desire users on here (and then there's John Duncan...).
Definitely. HTC sense makes all the difference which makes HTC phones a joy to use as compared to other android phones.

Errr....not really. I own a smart forfour (a smallish car). I don't mind the size of HTC Tattoo for example. I think that's a perfect sized phone. But the Xperia is way too small for my taste. It barely fills half your palm size! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it first! It certainly looks very odd when her husband uses it to call someone.

I've just got a Sony Ericcson Xperia X10 Mini Pro and i'm really liking it.
It's a lot smaller than the other smartphones out there, which for me is great cos I hate how massive I phones, HTCs and Blackberrys are. Along with it's touchscreen, it's got a slide-out qwerty keypad, which I much prefer to touchscreen typing.
It's online performance is great. Very fast load times for web pages and video streaming is stutter free.
The screen is very sharp and has vibrant colours.
It has a 5 meg camera, and from the small amount of photos and video that i've taken, the quality is very good.
Really, I have no complaints at all. Like all smartphones, if you use the internet a lot it mullers the battery, but it's not as bad as the Desire for battery drain. Without internet use, i'm getting three days battery life between charges. With using internet, about a day.
You can get it PAYG for around £170. Free on contract.
