in car DVD? or Tablet?
We've got a long car journey planned later in the year (6hrs, ferry for 2.5hrs, followed by a further 2hrs), and we've been toying with various options to keep the nippers entertained. One is 4 months old, so provided he's fed there no issue. The other one is 3 years old and prone to car sickness.
We've been toying with headrest DVD players - they seem to be £80 for single unit 7" screens or £130 for double unit 9" screens. It's a bit of an expense for something that will get minimal use (I don't want to plonk the kids in front of a film for every journey). What I've seen of these in the past, they look to be pretty poor quality.
The other option is to buy a tablet. I wanted to know whether ripping DVDs is possible/easy/legal, alteratively, I have an old CD/DVD drive from a long-dead laptop - would this work as a periphal device? If I do rip to the tablet, how much space can I expect a 90minute film (at good quality) to eat up?
