...how would they make it probably be the best record shop in the world?
Location? High Street, nope...how about next to a beach? Or an airport, like a lounge.
Coffee? nah, beer!
Shop Assistants? (definitely not the greasy rejects from the next door guitar shop that went out of biz the week before. More likely to be humbly knowledgable lovelies who absolutely adore just your genre of music, but have some great suggestions of their own. And smell nice!
Sofas, with music magazines all around - a bit like the Hollister dad's area next to the tills. (Without the surfing 6-pack mags)
Vinyl - oh yeah! Including the audiophile stuff.and secondhand collectors stuff (excellent condition only).
Downloadability - plug in your ipod and add that album or playlist easily.
An in-store app, so you can point your smartphone at the CD or album list and it plays.
A stage - for evening performances by live real bands - supporting local talent.
Pinball machines and bar football.
No PS3 or Xbox etc games.
I've just thought about my retirement project - who cares about making a profit - what a great place to die!
