Maybe it's a regional thing. I am a northerner and I like Hollands Pies, but only proper ones from a chippy, I don't like the frozen ones. I did try Pukka Pies once and decided that just like Scotch pies I'd rather sit down to a plate of my own vomit.
I now live in Wakefield Yorkshire and i know this to be true 'cos a guy in the pub told me it was.

I have been unable to order the pies as it's location dependant, so i've ordered the t-shirt.

Coincidentally, my wife has just gone to the kitchen to make a suet pastry lid for a beef, carrot, onion and Newcastle Brown stew that's been simmering away for a few hours.
The smell wofting through the house is torture!

I remember chip shop Holland's pies from when I lived in Bolton.
The best pies from the supermarket which put all others to shame are Higgidy Pies. Just lovely (a bit expensive mind).
I make my own pies these days anyway, much nicer, much cheaper and much more satisfying. Jusrol pastry, decent ingredients, bit of wine and stock. Done.
