Hole in one!
Can't quite believe it myself, but having quite recently taken up golf, I hit a hole in one today.
" />
I was playing alone, so only a few strangers witnessed it unfortunately, but still, an amazing feeling.
And no, I didn't go to the bar and buy everyone a drink.
" />
Anyone else had one?
I haven't but played with someone when they did.
I'm not jealous really, but my god it was the stuffiest hole in one you could imagine. He shanked it at least 20 yards left of the pin into the trees, hit a tree rebounded sideways onto the green and into the hole. He reckoned he was playing for it, local knowledge and all that
Well done anyway, I think within 2 feet is the best I've come over the last 35 years.
How come you've not got the drinks in?
.
Only on the crazy golf!
Congrats!
@CnoEvil
If you ever meet me, I'll buy you one.

It was at Abbey Hill in Milton Keynes, but only on the par 3 course. It was on the first hole, but I was playing it as the 9th, as I jumped straight to the 2nd to avoid being stuck behind a 5 ball.
It's only 102 yards, and I played a 9 iron.
My clubs are pretty awful, bought very cheaply on ebay just to start me off.
I haven't ventured on a 18 hole course yet, so I can't regard myself as being any good at all, but I do hit my irons quite well, and my chipping is the best part of my game. Putting is poor on the whole.
I've been on the driving range a few times, and tend to hit it around 200-250, but not always in a straight line, I slice 2 in every 3 shots.
Only on the crazy golf!
Congrats!
I've never hit one in crazy golf, awful at putting.

Good stuff - how many little windmills did it go through?
I've had 2 Eagles...
Where Eagles Dare?

I was playing on my own, and I'd be embarrassed to go into the bar and tell a load of strangers I'd got a hole in one.
Plus, I can be quite tight.

How little you think of me. gel said the same.

It's not just because it went in, but it's the best I've ever hit a 9 iron, real height, landed a yard or 2 from the hole, then just rolled gently in.
I'm just gutted that only a few strangers witnessed it.
Congrats , I had one many years ago when I was 15 on par 3 , used a 5 iron (now be a 9) , I didn't see it go in hole obscured by bunker but the guys on the next tee all started clapping and cheering. They got together and bought me a pint (FO & lemonade) and 1 doz golf balls.
I've played golf three times in my life. Third time I stopped half way through because we ran out of balls. Second time I played with somebody who could actually play and he could see that I couldn't, and he was mortified when I hit a par on a 3 and won the hole against him. First time I played was on a links in Edinburgh and I scored 111. That might not sound too bad for a first time, but that was 111 over par...

Good man.....hope you took out the insurance, as you owe the whole forum a drink!
I've been playing for 40 years and never had one.....though I've had 2 Eagles on par 4s in competition; and one albatross, not in competition.
What are the details - Where was it, what was the hole length and what club did you use?
