Hidden Treasure
My Dads gone on a housecleaning rampage 'cause he feels like buying a house down the road for some reason. Anyway, I thought I'd rummage around the basement a bit while he was out and see what can be saved from his scorched-earth tidying up policy.
So deep in an old disgusting trunk lined with pages from the guardian with thatcher's sneering visage on them I found:
Fairport Convention - What we did on our Holiday.
Steeleye Span - All around my hat.
Steeleye Span - Below the Salt.
and Elgar's Planets suite.
All in beautiful nik. All spirited away to the safety of my record collection.
Good find eh?
Anyone else strike gold in unlikely places?
survivor:VERY good find!
Especially Elgar's Planets suite - that's a real undiscovered gem ![]()
Woops. Meant to say Enigma variationes.

Ahh Enigma, one of the few dance bands I liked......
When my brother was going through his first divorce, I was helping him clear out his house in Yorkshire. He brought down an old cardboard box from the loft and was about to throw it in the skip outside when I decided to have a peep. It was full of his old Beatles albums on vinyl (inc Sgt Pepper). So I quietly put the lot in the boot of my car and never told him!
Years later he once wondered allowed where all his old records had gone, and I had to own up. ![]()
