Have you ever seen a UFO?

I have.

Not saying it was little green men or anything like that but I have seen a UFO. As a teenager I grew up in one of England's 'UFO hotspots' and I'm sure that it's no coincidence that there were a number of US airbases in the area.

When I saw the UFO I was at a friends house so we both saw it together and also had the opportunity to view it very clearly in close detail using a pair of bionoculars. We watched it for about three or four minutes as it flew slowly and silently at low altitude in the direction of RAF Croughton. It looked very similar to the silver spaceship that's in the film 'Flight of the Navigator' and it had three black spots at the back.

Over the following few months after seeing this UFO I looked at all the pictures that I could find in UFO books and magazines and eventually managed to find a picture of one that someone else had seen which looked virtually identical to the one that I'd seen. I also researched all of the different types of weather balloons and I'm certain that it was not one of these (I saw it in very close detail with a pair of binoculars so I am sure of this).

Anyway, that's my story. Have any of you ever seen a UFO?

Given the true definition of a UFO, I'd imagine most people have seen one at some point in their lives.

Loads of times. Phil Mogg is a great frontman and I caught them a few times with Michael Schenker. I quite like Vinnie Moore in the new line-up. Strangers In The Night is a great live album too. Rock Bottom has to be one of the all time great live tracks.

RE: Have you ever seen a UFO?

No. I was visited by an angel who told me that aliens don't exist.

RE:

It looked similar to this if anyone's interested. A slightly different shape to the one in these pictures but still very similar. It was clearly made of a hard shiny silver metal and had no cockpit windows. Although I only saw it moving relatively slowly the shape looked to me liked it was designed to work at supersonic speeds.

It was totally silent and had no wings/thrusters/rotors/propellers etc or any other visible method which could have provided the necessary lift to keep it airborn. It moved and travelled in a very unusual manor quite unlike any other aircraft that I've ever seen. The USAF must have some damn funky technology at work on their secret aircraft.

I know that area quite well, where exactly did you live?

I lived quite near when I was younger, but never saw any UFOs.

I went to school in Brackley for a few years in the mid 90's. I only saw the one UFO during in that time and never met anyone else who's seen one (apart from the friend that was with me at the time of course).

Most UFOs are actually normal phenomena. Nearly all sightings have military connections. Seeing them around or close to an American airbase sounds about right.

Magdalen College or the private one?

I went to MC for a year a long time before you did. My brother still lives there.

Didn't know it was a UFO hotspot. I did actually think I saw one once, was really convinced, lights in the sky, slow moving, and no sound. But, the reason there was no sound was due to the wind, and it turned out to be a light aircraft.

What you saw was somewhat different though.

No and neither has anyone

No and neither has anyone else. Paul McGowan suggests in his PS Audio blog that the dramatic decline in UFO reports may be due to our ability to make instantaneous videos - 'As soon as most of us gained the ability to video record reality, the popular myths we couldn’t argue with before get fewer and fewer'

I went Magdalen College School. We used to sneek over the wall of the private school at night and use their outdoor swimming pool sometimes though.

I read in UFO magazines at the time that there had been a couple of other sightings in the area around the same time (1995/1996). I've no idea if it was a UFO hotspot before or since then though. There doesn't seem to be anything about it when I did a search on the internet a few years ago.
