GOLF....anyone?
I taking up golf (new hobby instead of Hifi) but I found it almost impossible to drive the ball more than 75 yards! (or in most case hitting the damm ball!)
I would appriciate some tips from forum friends before I brake all my clubs.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
been there, done that mate....
sounds silly, but don't try and hit the ball.
try to swing the club through where the ball is and almost "accidentally" catch the ball on the way through.
Easier said than done... easiest is to find a friendly golf pro and get a couple of lessons (but not too many - you can fall into the trap of spending more on lessons than you do on playing!!)
And don't beat yourself up about bad shots. The whole point of golf is to relax and enjoy 4 hours away from the wife/kids!!!
Enjoy the walk.
Slow it down and do it gently, and you will probably hit the ball further. Plus you will be abble to see where you are going wrong.
As a Valentine treat my wife book a few lessons for me with a pro..... I have a feeling that she want me out of the house every Sunday morning! (suit me dear)![]()
Keep your head down and start by using three quarter swing. Do not lift your head up until the ball has gone and follow your arms towards it. Enjoy.
few lessons later and I feeling pretty good about my new hobby ![]()
Watch out Tiger!
Wow great find, thank you Giant

I'm of the 'good walk spoilt' persuasion....

Todaysgolfer.co.uk also worth a look - try the fantasy golf - for added interest through the summer.

And I thought you were a fella Clare!
Golf can be a great game, great day out in the sun, good laugh etc. But it can be hard too.

1. Lessons
2. Get the right gear. It's as much fun swapping golf gear as hi-fi. And cheaper too. Well, until you get the bug properly !
3. Practise, practise, practise !
I'm just getting back into golf after a lengthy lay-off from it due to being utterly sick of it. Worked in the golf trade for 16 years or so, for my sins. More difficult than I remember !

I have bought a reasonable set (2nd hand progen/ping set). Some of the drivers are more expensive than Krell?? I can't see How that work??? at least Krell has a massive transformer in it.

Yeah, but some of the clubs have a similar level of technology !
It'd be fair to say there's as much snake oil in golf as in hi-fi though, especially with shafts. Been there, done that. But then, I was selling the things ![]()

Take up the guitar. Is cooler.
