Another nail in the coffin for FTA F1, with TF1 losing out to Canal+ for French rights.

All part of Bernie maximising his money before he goes, I reckon....

Anyway, in driver news, Adrian Sutil's had a seat fitting at Force India. Will he be their second driver, alongside Paul di Resta?

I see Adrian Sutil's been confirmed at Force India, thought they might go with Bianchi, but I wasn't bothered either way.

Meanwhile, the new Red Bull seems to be struggling for pace ... ohhh sure

Bianchi's got himself a seat at Marussia! This just tweeted:

We're pleased to announce that we've appointed Jules Bianchi to a race seat. This follows the termination of our contract with Luiz Razia

Blimey, didn't see that one coming. Feel sorry for Razia - shortest F1 career ever?

i'm taking that as an existentialist comment re the bleak, money-driven nature of F1? Wink

Sad - but not surprising - that cash-strapped Marussia had to kick Razia out when his backers didn't pay up....

On a different topic, Sky Sports F1 has confirmed it's going to show 3D broadcasts of the 3rd pre-season test - four days from Feb 28th.

It's just an experiment, but from the 3D footage i've seen previously (Panasonic shot a lot back when they sponsored Toyota) it could look great. Not that I could imagine watching two hours of race in 3D (if Bernie were ever to fund it), but it's an interesting move....

What did people think of the 3D, or was it just me watching a test with two pairs of specs on? :)

I know 3D isn't doing particularly well at the mo, and it seems like it's the 'in' thing to criticise, but I've been impressed with it when watching sports and I thought the F1 was pretty good.

I didn't see it, but I have seen tennis, basketball and some GT racing in 3D, it does look quite good but I couldn't watch it for more than a few minutes - my eyes appear to be a little bit wonky.

I'm happy with 1080P HD pictures and if they want to invest in 4K, well that won't be a bad thing either, but 3D? no thanks, not interested.

Roll on F1 2013, and good luck to everyone who isn't called Sebastian Vettel!  shifty

One week to go, is anyone brave enough to make a prediction for Australia? Wink

Tempted to back Hamilton.

Will 2013 be a season of (tyre-friendly) tortoises and hares - or merely a repeat of 2012Tongue

For me the loss of picture quality in 3D isn't worth the 3D experience. I'd rather they put HD cameras on the cars TBH.
