It's still obviously far too early to tell, but I'm gonna stick my neck out and say Alonso will take the title this year (NB - not who I want to do it, just who I think may well).

Anyone else gonna have an early guess and we can see how we did in November!

Hamilton, Niki Lauda-style 1977 - ie, when the latter scored consistently but 'only' won 3 races.

Just watched second practice and Hamilton and the Ferrrari’s look competitive although Alonso did a bit of grasscutting.
Maldanodo looks as if he has put Senna under a lot of pressure and Williams may not be the best place to be for that.
I’ll second the Professor and back Alonso for the title.
Once Sky are the only UK broadcaster I bet they will start to charge for the F1 channel.

Once that happens i'll give up watching rather than give any money to Sky. (Whether they charge for F1 seperately or not.)

The Blonde Lord on pole- not what we expected eh!, although he has had some excellent drives recently that have gone slightly unnoticed.

Sky will charge £12 a month when they are the only provider I reckon.

And what's happening to The Ice Man- very disappointing recently.

Though I do have to smile at Kimi's interviews, which are so disinterested-teenager...

You have to wonder which teenager taught him English. Does he have the same drab tone in Finnish I wonder?

Yep yep! Great race from Grosjean as well, but my goodness, what happened to Button?! Clearly the car was just burning up the tyres, but it's unusual to see the same team having such different results.

Indeed. But a great race and superb result. I don't think I've ever seen Martin Whitmarsh look so happy/relieved - it's almost as if he had some great threat/penalty hanging over his head if they'd failed again... Mind you, with Ron Dennis around, anything is possible  Smile

Edge of the seat for the last 15 laps, certainly one of the best for entertainment so far this season.

I take it then prof you didnt watch any of the practice sessions then. Button couldnt get his car set up well because he missed most of the 1st had an oil leak followed by a gearbox problem & only had 18 minutes to get sorted.

You're right, I didn't (unfortunately I have to work). However, from Jenson's interview just now and Sam Michael's interview, what happened in that race certainly wasn't just a result of missing some track time during practice. Sure, that didn't help, but there's something very amiss at the moment (as shown at Monaco when he was unable to get past the Caterham) - hopefully they'll be able to get it sorted before the British GP (where I'll be cheering on from Copse excellent! )
