films that were better than you thought they would be
cradle to the grave...rubbish acting but the action scenes were excellent!
I borrowed the late 70s film "The Warriors" from my neighbour and the blurb on the box sounded dreadful, but it's a great film.
Kung Fu Hustle. A hoot from start to finish.

Eermmm, The Benchwarmers ![]()
Please don't take this as a recommendation as I hate 'feel good' yank comedies but I actually laughed out loud in places. If you've seen it before then I understand the head scatching but for some reason........must have been the Gavi de Gavi.

Agree 100%
I thought I'd quite like it, but I was surprised at just how good it was.
I must say that 'The Pursuit of Happiness' was much better than I expected....
Will Smith is a legend though....sorry but he is! lol
Downfall is a film I remember being stunned by - I saw it before it started winning lots of Awards, on the recommendation of a friend. I initially thought 'hmmm, how's this going to be different from any other WWII film...and it's in German', but it was so incredibly compelling i soon forgot I was watching a subtitled movie.
recently, in bruges. i can't stand colin farrell, but he just about won me over in this.
10,000 BC was better than I'd have thought it would be...although it is a little historically inaccurate.
Hughes123:10,000 BC was better than I'd have thought it would be...although it is a little historically inaccurate.
How do you know that?

Because the Sphinx was built around 2,500 BC, not 10,000 BC!

Terminator 2 - Judgement Day, what a sequel!
