Costello that is. . .


For the last few days I've had a Costello fest on vinyl. . .Crikey, he's a genius.

Been catching up on some of his US chatshows - Spectacle - which Channel 4 HD is running. Seem pretty good if a bit indulgent: the Police one the other night was enjoyable...

Yeah, i've got the Bill Clinton 'Spectacle' on the Sky planner....

But back  to the OP - yes, Elvis Costello is a genius. Superb songwriter, brave musician not afraid to experiment (not always with great results, but at least he hasn't stagnated), and a very smart cookie.

There's almost as much Costello as Presley in my Elvis playlist!

I still love the fact that EC's Dad sung this (he's not the actor, though - it's called MIMING, people).

Wonder whether EC and Diana Krall's kids will follow in the family tradition?

Which quite neatly leads me onto this Monty Python sketch, a version of which could play out in the Costello/Krall household if their kids decide to snub the music world
