Why can't they just get a new calendar when the old one runs out?

RE: Does the world end tomorrow. Last Mayan Calendar day

Unless they were somehow in touch with the Gods, I doubt they'd be able to forecast the end of the world. The end of the world has been forecast many times before, and it hasn't happened. I just suspect they ran out of space - although it does beg the question why they produced a calendar that listed dates so far ahead...

I think that if the world was ending tomorrow, we'd have seen or felt some sign of that by now, and scientists would have seen or measured some changes in the earth's atmosphere/temperature, or measured unusual seismic activity or something.

In a selfish sort of way, I would rather the world ended tomorrow than I grow old and die. I don't like the idea of dying when my time comes, knowing I'm going to miss out on stuff further down the line. If it all ended tomorrow I'd die at peace with everything, knowing there'll be nothing I'll miss out on (because nothing will exist), other than the things I haven't done of my own free will. I hope that makes sense Smile

No. (Although i'd worry a bit about your 60 month guarantees in light of all that.)

For all those people staking their reputation on Armageddon tomorrow... If it doesn't happen then remember... It's not the end of the world!
