Do something amazing this Christmas (and get free biscuits!)
If you're a regular blood donor - or even if you've never donated before - why not gift a pint of your finest over the Christmas/New Year period? There are donation sessions across the country, and with time off work, you've no excuse of being too busy to go.
You can find your nearest session here - and remember a) it doesn't hurt b) it doesn't take long c) they give you tea and biscuits afterwards and d) you could help save someone's life. Oh , and e) you get to find out what your blood type is, and carry a card to that end - which could help save YOUR life if you have an accident.
A shame - there's a Teddington session tomorrow....
But the session holders will run a certain risk over this period as a lot of people will have excess blood in their alcohol system.![]()

Shame, am a glandular fever leper.

Dual service to humanity - save their life AND make them happy ![]()

Would've done and have given a few pints over the years, but since I turned 44 earlier this month, I've been ill. Unlikely to be going anywhere near the donor centre in Edinburgh for a month or so now.
I recommend either extending 43, or just go straight to 45 and avoid 44 altogether...!
Sorry. Due to my ongoing obsession with getting inked. I too am barred from giving.....
I signed up whilst I was studying art direction at uni. I needed to get photos of a blood dialysis machine for a campaign for Diageo. The nurse said only if you give something yourself - fair enough. Have continued to donate since, it's one of the only good deeds I do.
Fainted while giving a blood sample at the docs a couple of years back, so while I feel I should do it...
I'm not allowed either, the missus is a vampire and I'd hate her to go hungry
But seriously, when are they in Norf Landan?

lol, about 200 yards away from my abode

JohnDuncan:Sadly, am not allowed...
Me neither. I went along with my wife a few months ago, but was told that due to a previous illness which I have now completely recovered from (testicular cancer - check'em lads...you know it makes sense) they can't take the risk.
But I would urge someone else to go on my behalf if at all possible.
