Chicago for 36 hours................!
Long time no post, but we are still here.
Off to the States beginning of July and flying in to Chicago on the Saturday afternoon, then free til business as usual Monday morning.
It really is a short stay but not knowing Chicago at all, what would be the must do tourist trips/shopping/water front/restuarant thing??
Very excioted about going and want to try and get in some quality visits??
Thanks ahead
Thanks Clare
And thanks for the links
I went for an equally short stop last year.
I found the aquarium amazing:
Other than that, the river tours are supposed to be good (I didn't go - I was shopping!), and - if you like heights - the John Hancock observatory:
But for me, Chicago had two main highlights - the live music bars (eg House of Blues and many more), and the amazing restaurants.

Enjoy
So, taking on board fully your advice;
Hugos on the Saturday for a most excellent New York cut steak
Gage on Sunday for rabbit salad and saddle of elk, fabulous
Kinzi's on Monday for Tuna Steak rare, coated in sesame seeds and served with noodles
Walked Michigan Street to do the shopping on the Sunday, also good, and plenty to look, see, buy and occassionally drink
All in all a very busy time with some excellent eating, ending up in Philadelphia at the Buddakan for Asian fusion style on Thursday, great stuff!!
Shaws crab house, Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Magnificent Mile, Wrigley Field for a baseball game. Loads of bars and restaurants. Brilliant City.
