I have a male cat but am currently looking after his girlfreind as she's been kicked out by her owner, she has been eating a lot & seems a bit overweight, the question is, is she just a fat cat thats eating alot or is she pregnant, -if she's pregnant is their anything i need to do, i live in a rented flat on my own so space is a bit limited. -appreciate any help.

Gestation is a couple of months so you'll find out soon enough...

Not necessary, they'll drown just as well in cold water.

What's the towel for?

God knows.

Not being a parent myself, I can only deduce that new borns are partial to a sauna first thing.

If she becomes scatty and starts looking for salad cream on dogfood....then she's pregnant. Shock

Either take the cat to the vet for a check-up or try and contact the owner. You need to know for sure whether she is 'with baby' or whether something else is causing the bloating.

It only dawned on me today after a freind reckond she might be pregnant i'm pretty sure she is, she's being acting oddly, i think she is looking for a place to have her babies, -so i will keep her in my flat with a litter tray (no pun intended), i've put a towel in my old onkyo 606 box so i hope she will use that.

Well, one of the kittens should be called Onkyo, and the rest after AV receivers...with the biggest being called Susano. poke, prod

The first one out should be called "Pioneer". Smile

unless you have responsible owners lined up, might i suggest your local cats protection or similar?  they will vet potential owners and you might be able to get a voucher from them to help with getting the young lady spayed.
