Broadband & phone bundles?

Hi,

Wasn't sure where to put this, so I thought here was probably best.

I'm looking at changing my broadband & phone packages, since I haven't changed either in ages, and both are now chronically bad value. I'm thinking of getting a combined phone & broadband deal for simplicity.

I quite like the look of Plusnet's Unlimited packages, both for standard and fibre. You can get unlimited broadband + phone for about £20 a month, £24 with anytime calls, and I've found Plusnet in the past to be a good balance of value and performance.

Any other ideas / suggestions? Do people still feel Plusnet are a decent provider? they certainly used to be back in the day.

Cheers.

Plusnet are excellent, and can't recommend them highly enough.

Their line rental isn't the cheapest, and some of the features that are standard/included in the line rental with other providers are chargeable with PN.

But their support/CS is leagues above every other ISP I've used.

I've been with them before and always been pleased. I'll swap a small amount of cost for decent performance. Do you find the broadband performance to be steady / reasonably fast?

Haven't looked at this market for a while. fibre is cheaper than I thought it would be. I'm doing more streaming / downloading of HD content than before, so I'm getting tempted by this, but think I'll stick with ADSL for now.

Thanks.

I'm on fibre and get a consistent 75mbps down and 19.5 up.

Plusnet and BT are sister companies, a bit like VW and Skoda; same car, different badge.

Owned by BT Group, but thankfully run as a completely separate subsidiary.

BT now own Plusnet, (As mentioned above) however they still operate independently, which is just as well as BT do not provide the best quality and support.

I use Plusnet and one thing you can be sure about, is that they will bend over backwards to get things sorted if a problem does occur, (Unlike a number of other company’s) and consequently I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Hope this helps

Bill

Just to echo others, have been with Plusnet for a few months now - excellent service and nice to see the upgrade to Unlimited packages was offered to existing fibre customers at no extra charge.

I work from home so do pay the extra £5 per month for the "Pro Add-on", but I get excellent download speeds (80 Mb +) consistently, even in the evening.
