Well Mr Robinsons words were pretty well bang on. The arrogant, self-centered,bollinger swilling creatures need to be brought to book, for all the misery and anguish they have caused many famliys acoss this land and further afield.

Rotten to the core for years, paying themselves telephone number size salarys at our exspense. Sacking them is  not good enough, they need prosecuting for thier irrisponsible actions!!!

Very appropriate !

A banker in a tired suit is counting in his head

he's standing in your overcoat he's lying on your bed

president gas is tap dancing

for the banker he's a thief

he isn't very honest

but he's obvious at least

Good one, how about this:

You can arm yourself, alarm yourself

But there's nowhere you can run

Cause a man with a briefcase

Can steal more money

Than any man with a gun...

Gimme what you've got. Don Henley - 1989

RE: Baldricks Rant !

the thought of loss is more than you can bear,
you scan the index for a market leader,
a tip and a prayer.

You better see daylight:
night comes on the City so soon.
You say you are a christian capitalist,
but you dance to a different tune.

Jobs for the boys and dole for the shop-floor;
rationalize, strip the assets and run.
If the contract stalls,
then you've just got to cop more,
ain't Monopoly fun?
You made some pretty deals along the way,
Judas and Faust are in accord.
When the revolution comes you may be blown away,
but I bet you'll end up on the board....

Only the money.
Only the money.

Sometime in the future you may realise that the day
you made your decision to follow money as a goal
was you darkest dawn and that, since then, you have
venerated figures as deities and, for you,
people are just pawns.

But that deal includes you:
you're just an asset like the rest
and you, too, stripped naked,
beg the Money-God not to put you to the test.

He's got no further use for you.
Now, there is silence on the floor.

Clever money-computers chatter privately.
No people any more.
Only the money.

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay
And your O.K.

Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands
And make a stash

New car, caviar, four star daydream
Think I'll buy me a football team

Money get back
I'm all right Jack
Keep your hands off my stack

Money, it's a hit
Don't give me that
Do goody good bull****

I'm in the hi-fidelity
First class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet

Money, it's a crime
Share it fairly
But don't take a slice of my pie

There are a couple of trip-wires to prosecution.  The first being that 'Libor' is not covered by our criminal law although I see no reason why a straight forward catch-all action for conspiracy cannot be actioned.  Which brings me to the second and biggest problem.

The Serious Fraud Office, which has had more spectacular failures of prosecutions than you could shake a stick at.  Add to this all the frenzied outpourings on bankers and it could be argued that anyone charged in this debacle could not get a fair trial.

So perhaps you should not hold your breath.

Well the process is to begin, but as you say it won't be clear cut. Everybody trying to cover thier backsides.

In the end the real culprits will probably get away with it.
