This is purely a poll of the residents here, and should NOT been seen as an endorsement by me, the forum or anyone to buy. Just interested to see if people are considering this.

I've never bought shares before but a bit of googling shows good returns predicted. How does one sell shares if they've been bought without a broker?
HiFi / A/V / Bedroom
your bank will sell them on your behalf, but you'll get a better deal using one of the online share selling companies. They'll all advertise a "Royal Mail sell on" facility as soon as the shares go live.
As a student I took on a IR£100k facility to buy shares when Telecom Eireann (Eircom) went public. The shares were security for the loan, and I only drew-down funds to pay for the allocation (IIRC I got £23,000 worth, and they shot up 18% in the first week, so I sold them only within 4 days and made a tidy profit). Best summer job ever!
Sounds good. And are you going for these shares?
Financial commitments of this nature require a "family discussion", so I'll speak with SWMBO first, but I expect I will.
I wouldn't, but then I don't live there any more.
Personally I hope they get renationalised with no compensation some time in the future when the Govt of the time see sense. Along with Buses,Trains, water and electricity/gas.
“Out beyond ideas of wrong and right, there is a field.
I'll meet you there."
I expect that it will be very oversubscribed, so even if you put down for £10,000 worth ( the max any individual can request), you'll end up getting only a handful, so not worth the effort.
The employees at Royal Mail should do pretty well out of it though, even if the shares in a few years' time are the only souvenir of the job they once had.
