anyone in to RC cars
Anyone in to RC cars, i'm after buying my first proper electric car, been looking at traxxas cars wondering if anyone can give advice. Initially just after a car to charge around the streets, some off roading, then not sure. Loved these as a kid! thanks
I wish I had the time!
I used to race RC stock cars (Petrol) great fun.
Cannot help on todays electric ones, but I am sure you will enjoy it.
I used to be into it when I was a kid. My folks bought me a Tamiya 'Wild One' 1/10 buggy for Christmas when I was about 13. I was lucky that my school had an R/C club one evening every week, making a track on the wooden assembly hall floor using thick rope and tyres (not the best surface for a buggy, but great oversteery fun nonetheless!)
I even won a trophy one year.
I've had a couple since, currently have a Tamiya 'Wild Dagger' (twin motor 4x4 monster truck thingy) gathering dust in the garage. TBH I prefer building them to using them.
I did look into joining a racing club again fairly recently, but decided that I had little enough money to spend on my current hobbies without getting back into the super-competetive, slightly nerdy world of R/C.
In conclusion. They're great fun if you can find a club or some other like minded people in your area. If you're looking to razz it up and down the street on your own, I think the enjoyment will wear off pretty quickly.
i wasn't really interested in RC cars, I always thought it was just a toy for little boys, until I saw some youtube videos of hardcore stuff you can do with these little babies. one example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAAAKG8j9JQ
I used to love RC aircraft but cars never really gave me that buzz.
