Is this any good?
This one? Cheers.
Have you thought of what you need from a camera? (Apart from a big discount.)
Where do I buy it from?
Not really, it is for my Dad for Xmas and birthday present. I would like a big screen, lots of megapixels and a discounted one and something that is highly recommended and a shop to buy from that I can trust. Free case and memory card would be nice too.
He is going to be using it with his laptop too.
I have the SX10 which I bought about 4 years ago for £250 - brilliant camera, so that looks like a bit of a bargain. Just the sort of thing if you want a bit more than a point and shoot but aren't ready/don't want to go down the SLR route.

Ah cheers, much appreciated.
If you are looking to spend a bit more the Sony RX100 is very highly rated, it has around £200 off as the mark 2 has recently been released. It was actually voted as one of the top 50 inventions of 2012 in time magazine.
The mark two is basically the same camera but with additional features such as NFC and Wi-Fi and is selling for over £600 so £360 for the M1 is a great deal.
Wow. TZ40 I looked at recently for more than £300. Now £200. I am tempted. I have the earlier TZ7. Brilliant camera at around £250 a few years back. I may have to ask Santa. Anyone want a mint TZ7? :)
Amazon's black friday deals is starting in 5 days gel. I bought my cameras from there. Amazing discounts.

Hard to find a bad camera.nowadays. Pic quality is usually very good. Video too is usually exceptional. HD video is great. Consider zoom, wifi, gps. Review focus & zoom capability. Some dont zoom on video. Zoom stabilization works well now with big zoom ranges. Add a spare battery & 16gb or bigger fast memory card. Those considered the tz40 is ideal for my needs and I have been impressed with my tz7 but I have owned/used Canons, Pentax, Fuji etc. Samsung look ok too. Dont worry too much about pixels. 10m is usually enough and higher figures can introduce noise so its a balancing act somewhat. Good luck.
