He's got a contract til the end of the season, do you think he'll last that long?

Who knows with Abramovich.

Just heard, Real Madrid have just taken the lead at City. That makes me feel a touch better... no, it doesn't but...

I can't believe it's Rafa, I suppose it is just short term though.  If I was a Chelsea fan I would not be happy!

Considering the number of managers they've had over the years post Roman, they've still managed to win plenty of trophies.

A poison chalice?  I don't think so. Not one manager sacked by Chelsea leaves with his reputation lessened ( even AVB!), and gets a good job with a few million tucked  away in the bank.

Personally I think this idea that Pep G. will eventually come riding in on his horse and carry on where he left off at Barca is not a given by any means.

PS: Has Rafa fallen out with the board yet?

I think Benitez is the perfect choice. His teams are renound for being hard to beat and hard working. He'll get Chelski organised in defence, their briliant midfielders will have to work harder, but they have pace and skill and will be able to turn defence into attack in a flash. Torres will surely start playing better and they should add another world class striker too. I can see them winning the league.

Every Chelsea manager seems to be short term.

Everyone is heavily backing Pep to be the next permanent (use that phrase loosely) boss. But outside of Barca he is an unknown quantity. He was successful there, but look at their players. In a more run-of-the-mill team he won't do any better than Di Matteo IMO.

Barca have gone unbeaten so far this season, this proves Pep isn't that special.

If you like a bit of gambling I would pile your money on Rafa Benitez pretty quick.

Odds on and price getting weaker every second.

Did anyone take my advice ? I did Smile

Congrats!  I didn't believe that it would be him, still can't!

...and Abramovich has sacked himself by mistake.
