How sad, loved his voice. 84 is not too bad an innings though.

RE: Andy Williams has died.

Andy is one of my top five male singers of all time.

Have been playing quite a lot of his stuff recently as I`m finally putting together some compilations of favourite singers/bands. Although I`ve always rated him very highly you know it wasn`t until a few weeks ago when I watched a recording I made from BBC4, a duets compilation of Andy singing with some very big names, that watching and listening to him next to his peers made me realise just how good he really was. It features Dustly Springfield, Johnny Cash, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross and many others and is well worth a watch if it`s repeated.

A lot of people will have an Andy Williams compilation but I like to discover the forgotten gems he recorded and a good way to do this is via the 2 original albums on 1 cd re-issues. Love these.

Favourite songs? Obviously loads but a few of my very favourite ones are -  Moon River, Solitaire, Happy Heart, Almost There, The Impossible Dream, Alfie, A Time For Us, I Will Wait For You, It`s So Easy, Where Do I Begin, May Each Day and On The Street Where You Live. Not to forget of course some treasured Christmas songs. Think it`s going to be quite emotional listening to his Christmas album come December.

Right then, think I`d better give my mum a call because I know she`s going to be upset.

Thank you for all the great music and God bless you Andy Williams.

RIP Mr Williams, one of the great crooners.

If we're going to talk ads, it's got to be the Honda one for me - great ad and a brilliant song

RE: Andy Williams has died.

I do remember the Andy Williams show on the tv in the sixties (oops!!) and the Osmonds used to be on pretty much permanently with him, and the Bear in a comedy spot.

The Bear became quite a personality in it's own right on the show.

Andy was a class act, and Can't Get Used to Losing You was quite a song for him, do believe it got to No:1 here
