An All Day/Evening/Night Session With One Artist/Band
Do you ever have a session when you just want to listen to album after album from the same artist/band all day//evening/night?
I’ve just gone through seven consecutive, one-after-the-other Bowie albums and just taking a mini break to post this before I play the eighth! (and no, I’ve not bought “The Next Day” today either!)
No particular reason why, but I just can't stop!
No. Variety is definitely the spice of (musical) life.
Last year I was on a plane back from Sydney, and I did all 13 Beatles albums in one hit, stopping only for food/drink/comfort breaks.
Gotta love noise-cancelling 'phones & lossless files on an iPod classic.
But no, not normally. Have to agree with PP there.

Hello stranger, long time no read?
Not something I've actively chosen, but I have sort of 'fallen into it' with Metallica, Opeth & Porcupine Tree in the past. I think it tends to work with artists who change subtley over time, it keeps things familiar but fresh.
Hiya PP. Yeah, been on a bit of a tight budget over the past 3 years (has it really been that long?) so felt it best to keep away to avoid temptation!
But just bought myself an old Cyrus 2 on a whim and it reminded me of how good music can sound, so thought I'd dip a toe back in!
When I first bought "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" (about 35 years ago) I played it exclusively for a week.
I just can't do music all the way to Australia,I find it far too fatiguing.
For me those journeys always involve Sennheiser noise-cancelling phones plus Hancock's Half Hour, Round The Horne and the old Paul Temple radio serials.
When I bought my first ever CD which was 'The Prodigy Experience' I played it constantly for about 6 months.
I still have all night listening sessions with The Foo Fighters, Joe Cocker, Jamiroquai, Parov Stellar, Eric Bibb, Mozart and Beethoven.
I quite often have a zepathon. With all my tracks randomized through Sonos, it takes the edge off knowing whats next album by album.

Dne that with the Foo Fighters and Stereophonics a few times.
