Age Of Heroes
This could be, first time in years, a genuine British WWII film. It will have limited screening at cinemas, and the DVD will be out sometime in June.
All I know about the plot it's Ian Flemings 30 Commando Unit, the forerunner to the SAS. It stars Sean Bean and Danny Dyer and has an all-British crew and finances apparently.
Shall be keeping my eyes on this one but if anyone has any additional info on cinema dates and locations, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Cheers, pp
That's a shame.
It looks a gritty film. I saw a 20 second snippet of it on 'This Morning'
My one caveat is the raid in Norway. Funny, cause I always thought the precursor to the SAS began in the Desert of North Africa. Maybe my research of that period is off the mark (pardon the pun)? Also casts doubt on my Uncle's recollection of his own experience of El Alamein...
Col. David Stirling's 'Long range desert group*' were the pre-cursor to the SAS.
*Not to be confused with the NAAFI's special ops 'Long range dessert group' formed to parachute suet puddings and vats of Birds custard into the French countryside after D-Day.
That's a shame.
My thoughts exactly. Sounded quite interesting until I read the bit about who was in it...

That's a shame.
