Lol, so am I (Glasgow) near abouts.
I love winter ... bring on the snow I say ...... bring it on.

Aye, there's nothing like a 'dab of oppo' in the snow - yee-hah!
-2, 6" of snow, starts getting dark at 3. I haven't acclimatised to autumn yet.
I have no choice as a window licker . I love all the seasons theres nothing like a good british/irish winter morning come rain, wind, sunshine, snow, frost,. I wouldnt live anywhere else. Get your walking boots out and get some fresh air inbetween the cobwebs is the best cure for the blues
I love the winter and snow (although it's nicer abroad where the weather is more snow than rain) but hate people moaning about it, gets you down after a while!
Yeah I find it amazing how say a 10§ day in early October feels really bitter as you're used to summer - but in November, like today, it feels really mild!
I like getting the log fire lit and the cosyness of the run up to Christmas etc - but do find it frustrating as I work during the week that any jobs in the house / garden have to wait 'till the weekend - and even then they often get rained off.

Yip, it's a narrow ribbon of mild air that comes across the Atlantic, most noticable during winter. Last year it was push further south by Artic winds, hence all the lovely snow.
Thats the Jet Stream...plastic penguin:

You're right - both are linked and both influence the weather extremes we expeience every summer and winter. Most years, areas of Ireland, Wales and even Scotland rarely see snow, while the rest of us covered in snow. We have family friends in North West Wales, where they haven't seen a flake of snow in almost ten years, yet a few miles to the East (Snowdonia) was caped.
