Does anyone still have any of the old floppy discs? If so is there any chance i could have one?
If thats trading you might as well delete the thread old thing.

Several on eBay for under £1....
Gosh!! That's the oldest portable recordable disc that I can remember!!!! They were so thin & delicate.............couldn't use them more than 2-3 times............you still have one of those floppy drives?????
I still have a Commodore 128D which used to use this format, but alas no disks.
If memory serves me (!), there were in fact 8" floppy disks knocking around as well, but they lost popularity when the 5 1/4 ones were launched in late 1976.
Indeed, several on ebay but I'm having an argument with them that may take a while to conclude.
Seemed perfectly reasonable to ask as I'm not offering anything for trade or trying to buy/sell anything.
As for my reason for wanting one I have read that the disc inside can be cut to shape and used as a most effective cd mat. Seems worth a punt to me, the "proper" ones are expensive.
In my first job as a trainee programmer we copied the application onto 8" floppies. It ran on C-DOS.
My wife was intrigued by this thread title and was disappointed when I opened it.
Good one, gpi ! (insert schoolboy snigger FX here).
Wish I had thought of that . . . .
. . . . and just for pre-emptative reasons, I shall add : "You will, Oscar, you will!"

Are you being a tad sarcastic by any chance?
) My wife also saw the video 'The Big Red One' in the video store and again was disappointed when I explained it was a war film.

Sort of a bit like trading, really. Please don't...
