3D sound
This is a recording made using a set of microphones set in a circular manner around a point. Listen to it through a set of headphones and it's pretty impressive. Does anyone know of any music recordings made in a similar fashion?
I think I have heard of holophonics before though since I've never heard it it was somewhat forgotten. May have a listen of 'Bad' tonight!ÿ
'Binaural' recordings have been around for years (the BBC did a binaural broadcast a long time ago).
The binaural page on wiki has lots of links for sound clips.
i once heard one that involved you getting your hair cut by some guy called luigi, absolutely brilliant. you would swear he was right behind you, while the scissors where whizzing round your ears. at one point they put a bag over your head and it feels like you can't breath!
