QNAP: QiTunes air

Can anyone tell me anything about this QiTunes air add-on for QNAP NAS boxes?

I've had a look on their forums but am getting more and more confused, and there doesn't appear to be a simple info source on these QPKG add-ons, but I'm very new to it all so may be missing something.

Looks like it allows you to stream audio direct from NAS to ATV/AEx without the need for a computer on. Is this the case? Has anyone tried it? No idea myself on format support etc either, or whether it does anything else.
