Which to play music, iPhone 3GS or 30gig iPod video?

Which out of the two should give the better sound connected via 3.5mm headphone jack to RCA into my AV AMP?
iPhone 3GS 16gig or the 1st iPod video 30gig.
Both have same music on but wondered if technology differences between the two mean different quality of sound? Which would you suggest??

sorry I have to ask WHY?
I would use the storage device (PC) for playback and use the iPod/Phone as a controller.

So it thinks it's a portable hard drive with music sired so it can play it or is that daft?? Lol

Having listened to several different ipods/iphones over the years I would not expect there to be any significant difference between the two. Given the choice I would go with the 30gig purely for additional capacity.
Also you should consider purchasing a line out dock (LOD) cable to bypass the built in amp/equalizer.
