I use a line-out connector with my iPod Classic, but over the last couple of days I've been noticing distortion when listening to music on the move.
Having fiddled about with everything, it seems that the line-out connector isn't fully locking with the iPod's dock connector slot. It's obviously connecting enough to get a signal, and cables are locking well enough to charge the iPod when required, but it's driving me mad.
Is it possible to repair or replace the dock connector? It seems it just needs tightened, if such a thing is possible.
I don't really want to take it to Apple, as the iPod is five years old and they'll want £130-odd to do an out of warranty repair/replace.
