iPhone with portable DAC/AMP (iBasso)
Hi All
I am after some advice regarding DAC's in particular iBasso ones. I have an iphone and a laptop and would like to improve on the sound quality that comes out of both devices. I using Lossless music files by the way. I would ideally like to know firstly if I can plug my iPhone in to a portable DAC (for example an iBasso D10) and then plu my headphones in to the DAC would this improve the sound quality?
Next I would like to know if I use the iBasso D10 as a USB sound card on my laptop again owuld this improve the sound quality through my headphones.
I have a set of Grado SR60i headphones and use Sennheiser PX 200 on my iPhone.
Many thanks
Matt
If I buy a cable such as this http://www.russandrews.com/product.asp?lookup=1®ion=UK¤cy=GBP&pf_id=2204&customer_id=PAA1237053111600IXTKPJSBMSDOZFTR
would that bypass the onboard DAC and allow me to use an external DAC/AMP?

Have you considered an Airport Express and connect it to the DAC with an optical cable? This way both your laptop and iPhone can stream wirelessly to your DAC. It works great with Apple Lossless files.
The Airport Express is very handy because you can unplug it and connect to a different DAC or amplifier. Restart takes about a minute.

nope as you do not have a digital signal.
So is there any way to use the Fiio E7 onboard DAC when I am out and about?
