Will you be buying an iPad?
I remember on January 27th 2010 sitting at my computer, looking at the engadget live feed, waiting to see the new tablet. BOOM! There it was. Mr. Jobs holding the much anticipated tablet device. And most of our first impressions were, it's a big iPod Touch! After watching the keynote, I was rather happy with what the tablet can offer.
My question is, will YOU be buying an iPad? I will be buying the 3G version, if it comes out in April over here, contrary to what Mr. Jobs said. My only upset is that we won't be getting iBooks yet. But hopefully, some of the major book companies in the UK can make a nice little deal with the almighty Apple.
Now get posting
I'm not entirely sure what I'd use one for, but then I guess as a non-iPod Touch/iPhone owner, that's not entirely surprising...
No ! more overpriced Apple stuff and probably more features than u use
Just wait till the chinese copys come out ,just as good for a third or quarter the price
Mark
um no ipad for me
I have an ipod touch and i feel its the perfect PDA/mediaplayer etc for the money and the size is perfect. The HP Slate is going to be interesting when it arrives if it has a usb and or optical out so i can connect it to my dacmagic
No. Like Andrew, I don't know what I'd use one for. For surfing the internet, when I'm at home I use my laptop, when I'm at school I use one of the computers available in the library and when on the go, my iphone suffices for my very limited web requirements.
For books, newspapers and magazines - I read books, newspapers and magazines.
For films - my tv and blu ray player (home); laptop - rarely (on the go: train and plane)
Music - iphone/ ipod.
It's just easier for me to carry my laptop around on the rare occasion I need a portable device with enhanced functionality over an iphone. Books, newspapers and music keep me sufficiently entertained whilst on the tube.
Therefore, for the reasons above, I have no need, or desire, to buy an ipad. What I would like is one of the new macbook pros, and for it to feature blu ray.
Mmm, not sure yet, but I'm an Apple fanboy and once I see one for real in my local Apple store I may well be tempted. There are times when the screen on my iPod Touch just isn't big enough (and no jokes about "it must be your age and your eyesight's going" please Mr E!
)
No, I will not be buying an iPad. I do, however, have a birthday in April that I hope might bring one ![]()
Though my birthday wishlist may change once i've had a chance to have a good long play with the thing - I need to know it copes with music and video as well as i'd hope...
nads:nope.
I really don't see the point of them. If they had 500gb memory, then I would understand.
I reckon I'll get one eventually, but probably the 2nd or even 3rd generation. It will then become my main "general" laptop at home for email and web browsing, as well as portable media player for long train journeys etc.
Nope. Have an iPhone and MacBook already so don't see the point. What would I do with it?
if i could use it to control spotify on my mac, then maybe. very disappointed in the memory on offer though. more likely to get a macbook which i know will do everything i want. and when are these companies gonna realise "e-readers" are not as good as books?
I'm just gonna wait till work gives me one "for research purposes" ![]()

I hope you have a good stock of Hobnobs John!

I was kind of hoping it would be closer to a MacBook than an iPod but I admit it's quite the object of desire.
Think I'll wait until the next generation before I buy.
