vynil recording

...Hi,  its not really clear where i'm supposed to put a post on this site but i wated to ask some advice about recording from vinyl onto my computer...i don't seem to be getting a very good sound. I have an e macines PC with windows XP with a standard sound card . i'm recording onto some software called audio cleaning lab from my technics deck and mixer and then exporting that to i tunes.

could be that i need to get a better sound card..if so, where do i start? can anyone help?
