The best import setting for importing CD

Hi all,
I like to import song from CD using itunes for both my iphone and ipod. Please recommend the best Encoder for me to get the best sound quality ( AAC, apple lossless, MP3, AIFF? . Also in the Equaliser, which one do I choose?Rock, R&B, Jazz or what? Pls help me on this. TQ all

Pick Apple Lossless, but also tick the box where it says error correction on. This means it takes longer to download, but your getting a better quality rip from the CD.
With the EQ, do you mean on the apple device? If so, think it just works on play back of the songs, and I have mine set to off. Have a play around though.
One product I have got which made the ipod better, was the Fiio E5 small amplifier. It is the same size as the old shuffle, and it does give a better sound. If you get a LOD (check ebay for them), it bypasses the ipod volume controls, and makes it sound better again.
You should be able to get both for about £20 or just a bit above that cost.
