Recommend me something
I was given an Archos 605wifi 80GB for Christmas. It's rather rubbish. Two-hundred and something quid for the player itself, and then an extra £140 to unlock the web browser, MP4 and MPG2 codecs, enable the TV output, and get a charger for the thing. On top of that, mine, like many others, has a fault that causes major crackling over the headphones when the wifi is enabled, makign the unit even more useless than a very, very useless thing.
Anyhow, I'm now looking for something that does what the Archos does after spending an extra £140 on it. In essence, I'm looking for something that can do the following -
Store at least 60GB of material
Playback mp3 and wma (other formats would be nice as well, but those two are essential)
Playback Divx, xvid, x264
WiFi connectivity, and interweb access
So far, the Cowon Q5 seems the most interesting. It's got a 60GB drive, a 5" screen, wifi, MSN Messenger, Interweb Explorer, plays back every file format ever created, outputs to TV, opens Office files, and lots of other geekishly exciting things. It does, however, cost over £400 in this country. £250 in America. It's a tad steep, as importing scares me.
Can anyone recommend anything else? Or any other places to buy a Cowon Q5 from?
Cheers
